# 内容
公立図書館調査（PLS）は、2010年の博物館・図書館サービス法に基づく任務の下、博物館・図書館サービス研究所によって毎年実施されています。このデータファイルには、50州とコロンビア特別区の州立図書館行政機関によって特定されたすべての公立図書館が含まれています。この調査の報告単位は行政主体であり、地方または州の法律に基づいて合法的に設立され、地方自治体の住民に公立図書館サービスを提供する機関として定義されています。2014会計年度のPLSでは、州の特性データ（州の総人口推計、中央図書館と支店図書館の数、図書館の総利用者数と貸出取引数など）と、各公立図書館に関するデータ（名称と所在地、法的サービス地域の人口、印刷資料とデジタルコレクション、フルタイム相当の職員数、運営収入と支出など）が収集されました。
