# 背景
**500ルピーと1000ルピー紙幣の非通貨化**は、2016年11月8日に**インド政府**が講じた措置で、2016年11月9日から、マハトマ・ガンジーシリーズのすべての500ルピーと1000ルピー紙幣のインドにおける法定通貨としての使用を停止しました。
