DOTAデータセット（正式名称はA Large-scale Dataset for Object DeTection in Aerial Images）は、航空撮影画像における物体検出に使用される大規模な画像データセットです。これは、航空撮影画像中の物体を発見し評価するために利用できます。DOTA-v1.0には、異なるセンサーとプラットフォームから取得された2806枚の航空撮影画像が含まれています。各画像のサイズは約800×800ピクセルから4000×4000ピクセルの範囲で、様々な尺度、方向、形状を呈する物体が含まれています。その後、これらのDOTA画像は航空画像解釈の専門家によって15の一般的な物体カテゴリーを用いてアノテーション付けされます。完全にアノテーション付けされたDOTA画像には188,282個のインスタンスが含まれ、各インスタンスは任意の（8自由度）四辺形でマークされています。
DOTAデータセットは2017年11月28日に武漢大学によってarXiv上で公開され、その後2018年6月にIEEEコンピュータビジョンとパターン認識会議（CVPR）で公開されました。DOTA-v1.0データセットの画像はGoogle Earthから収集されたもので、その一部は衛星JL - 1によって撮影され、他の一部は中国資源衛星データと応用センターの衛星GF - 2によって撮影されました。
