日本は独特な歴史と美しい文化を持つ国です。近年、日本の人口規模について懸念の声が上がっています。ここに提示されたデータセットを使って、この問題を調査し、日本のどの地域で人口が増加しているか、またどの地域で増加していないかを見ることができます。また、日本の過去の人口動向を調査し、歴史のさまざまな時点で人口がどのように分布していたかを把握することもできます。
内容
このデータセットには、1870年代まで遡る都道府県の生の人口数が含まれています。最古の人口データを入手するのは困難でした。なぜなら、1800年代後半は日本が急速に成長し、再編成されていた時期だったからです。現在、日本には47の都道府県があります。しかし、1870年代にはその約2倍の数がありました。私はできる限り、どの都道府県が現在の都道府県に統合されたか（そしていつ統合されたか）を追跡しましたが、私の照合は完全ではない可能性があります。このため、一部の都道府県の人口曲線に「飛躍」が見られます。さらに、1945年から1948年までの沖縄県のデータは入手できませんでした。人口数に加えて、他の列には都道府県の名前、その県庁所在地、それが属する日本の地域、および都道府県が位置する島が記載されています。都道府県の推定面積（km²）も利用可能です。

このデータはウィキペディアから入手しました。そのサイトのデータは、日本の公式国勢調査（およびその前身。この国勢調査の名称と方法は時代とともに変化しています）から直接入手されたものです。
啓発
このデータセットは、欠落している人口値の補間によって恩恵を受けることができます。例えば、前述のとおり、沖縄県の人口記録は不完全です。この時期のこの県の人口の推定値を入手するのは少し複雑です。なぜなら、この時期にはこの島は米軍に占領されていたからです。他の都道府県にも、他の理由で記録が不完全なものがあります。これらの都道府県の欠落した値を補間する簡単な方法は、各都道府県に対してロジスティック成長モデルを仮定し、そのようなモデルを適合させて補間することです。しかし、これよりも良い補間方法があるかもしれません。
このデータセットがKaggle上の他のデータセットと組み合わされ、他の人に役立つことを願っています。
