ウィスコンシン大学マディソン校は、2006年以降の毎年の秋と春の学期ごとに、すべてのコース（およびこれらのコースのセクション）、講師、科目、および各セクションの成績報告を公開しています。
このデータセットには9,000以上のコースがあります。成績付けが行われたコースセクションは約20万あり、合計で300万件の成績が報告されています。データセットには18,000人の講師が含まれており、その全員が、成績が報告されている場合もあれば報告されていない場合もある様々なセクションに関連付けられています。
このデータは、ウィスコンシン大学マディソン校の登録事務所から取得され、オープンソースツールの madgrades-extractor を使用してPDFファイルから抽出されました。
背景
このデータセットは、私の大学が公開しているPDF形式の成績報告ファイルを理解しやすくするウェブサイトを作成したいという願いから作られました。最終的な成果物は Madgrades というオープンソースのウェブサイトとREST APIで、その目的のために設計されています。このウェブサイトでは、ここで公開されている同じデータセットをSQL形式で使用しており、特定の要求に最適化するために追加のデータが生成されています。
