米国連邦高速道路管理局（FHWA）は、州間高速道路や米国国道、州道や郡道などの公道、および連邦土地上の一般公開されている橋梁を含む、国内の公道上にある橋梁に関する情報を収集・更新しています。この情報収集は、全国橋梁目録（NBI）として知られており、1972年から電子的に収集されています。データの一部は1997年に初めて一般公開されましたが、FHWAがNBIデータベースのすべての要素を一般公開することを決定したのは2007年になってからです。
