Fashion - MNISTはザランドの商品画像のデータセットで、60,000のサンプルからなる訓練セットと10,000のサンプルからなるテストセットで構成されています。各サンプルは28x28のグレースケール画像で、10クラスのラベルに関連付けられています。ザランドは、Fashion - MNISTを機械学習アルゴリズムのベンチマーク用に、元のMNISTデータセットの直接の代替品として提供することを意図しています。画像サイズや訓練セットとテストセットの分割構造は同じです。元のMNISTデータセットには多くの手書き数字が含まれています。AI/ML/データサイエンスコミュニティのメンバーはこのデータセットを愛用し、アルゴリズムを検証するためのベンチマークとして使用しています。実際、MNISTは研究者が最初に試すデータセットです。「MNISTでうまくいかなければ、全くうまくいかない」
