文脈
ハディース[1]（アラビア語）は、預言者ムハンマドの言葉と行動を指します。それらのハディースの収集物は、イスラム教徒の学者たちの世代を超えて伝えられ、最終的には大規模な収集物として収められ書かれました。伝承者の連鎖は、イスラム学における主要な研究分野です。なぜなら、1つのハディースには複数の伝承者の連鎖がある場合があり（重複することもあればしないこともあります）。しかし、これは主に定性的な分野であり、ハディースの学者たちは、特定のハディースを伝えた伝承者の連鎖を調査し検証することで、ハディースの信憑性を判断しようとしています。
内容
この前例のないデータセットには、24,000人以上の学者と伝承者、および彼らの教師や弟子（その他のメタデータも含む）が含まれており、イスラム初期にハディースがどのように、どこで保存されていたかの巨視的な概要を提供します。このデータセットは、特定の学派が他の学派よりもハディースの保存に多産であるかどうかなど、多くの他の質問にも答えることができます。
