固有画像分解は、挑戦的で長年存在するコンピュータビジョンの問題であり、この問題に関してはグラウンドトゥルースデータを取得することが難しい。我々は、合成データを使用してCNNベースの固有画像分解モデルを訓練し、その後、これらの学習済みモデルを実際の画像に適用することを探索した。そのために、我々はCGIntrinsicsを提案する。これは、完全なグラウンドトゥルース分解を持つ、新しい大規模な物理ベースのシーンレンダリング画像データセットである。我々が使用するレンダリングプロセスは、高品質でリアルな画像を生成するように精心に設計されており、これがこの問題領域において重要であることがわかった。また、我々は新しいエンドツーエンドの訓練方法を提案する。この方法は、CGIntrinsicsと、オプションとしてIIWおよびSAW（現実世界の画像に関する2つの疎な注釈付きの最新のデータセット）を利用して、より良い分解を学習することができる。驚くべきことに、我々は、合成データのみで訓練された分解ネットワークが、IIWおよびSAWの最先端技術を上回る性能を示し、訓練過程でIIWおよびSAWのデータを追加すると、性能がさらに向上することを発見した。我々の研究は、精心にレンダリングされた合成データが固有画像タスクに対して驚くほどの効果をもたらすことを証明している。
