# 背景
国立公園管理局は、個々の国立公園で特定され、観察記録、証拠資料、または公園内での種の存在を記録した報告書などの証拠によって検証された動植物種のデータベースを公開しています。すべての公園の種の記録は、国立公園種ポータルで一般公開されています。ただし、情報の広範な公開が公園内の種にリスクをもたらす可能性のある、希少種、絶滅危惧種については例外となります。
# 内容
国立公園の種リストは、国立公園内の種の存在と状態に関する情報を提供します。これらの種リストは作成中であり、リストに種が記載されていないからといって、その種が公園内に存在しないというわけではありません。種の調査に費やされる時間と労力は公園によって異なり、そのためデータの欠落が生じることがあります。種の分類学は時間とともに変化し、地域の違いや好みを反映します。したがって、記録は別の種名でリストされることがあります。
各公園の種の記録には、種ID、公園名、分類情報、学名、1つ以上の一般名、記録の状態、生息状況（公園内での種の存在の検証）、在来性（公園に在来の種か外来種か）、個体数（公園内での種の存在と目立ちやすさ）、季節性（公園内での存在の季節と性質）、および保全状況（米国魚類野生生物局による種の分類）が含まれています。分類学上のクラスは、種の分類のためにラテン語から英語に翻訳されています。目、科、および学名（属、種、亜種）はラテン語で記載されています。
