走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)は2次元画像化機器として、生物学、機械工学、材料科学などの分野で、微小試料の表面属性(例えば、組成や形状)を特定するために広く使用されています。SEMは、倍率、コントラストを高め、1ナノメートルを超える分解能を達成することで、人間の目の限界を克服する優れた能力を持っています。しかし、SEMの顕微鏡写真は依然として2次元(2D)です。SEMの顕微鏡写真から真の3次元(3D)形状を得ることで、調査対象の物体の定量的測定や有益な可視化を可能にする解剖学的表面が得られます。例えば、生物学では、3D SEM表面再構成により、研究者は生物学的構造の表面特性を調査し、粗さ、平坦度、うねりを認識することができます。材料工学や機械工学においても、材料特性の3D表現により、フラクタル次元や表面粗さを正確に測定し、微小な器具に嵌め込む必要がある微小物品を設計することができます。3D SEM表面再構成では、多視点幾何学、コンピュータビジョン、最適化戦略、機械学習などのいくつかの計算技術を用いて、2Dから3Dへの逆問題を解決します。本論文では、研究コミュニティ向けに、基礎となるアルゴリズムとともに3D顕微鏡データセットをhttp://selibcv.org/3dsem/ で公開し、無料で利用できるようにする試みを行っています。(2015年12月9日)
