このデータセットは、元のスタンフォード自動車データセットから派生したもので、ここからダウンロードできます：http://ai.stanford.edu/~jkrause/cars/car_dataset.html
スタンフォード自動車データセットが開発されたときに年次レベルが正確にラベル付けされていなかったため（これはスタンフォードのこのデータに関する研究論文に記載されています）、SCの年次レベルは削除されました。年次レベルの削除による重複したクラスラベルは、単純に統合されました。
このデータセット内のすべての画像は前処理されています。つまり、すべてのバウンディングボックスの情報が画像の切り抜きに使用され、画像内で関心対象が完全に焦点を合わせられています。トレーニングセットとテストセットは50:50の比率で分割されており、これはこのデータが公開されたときにスタンフォードが行った方法です。このトレーニング/テスト分割比率を変更する必要がある場合は、さらなる前処理が必要です。
このデータセットの総クラス数は189で、元の196のクラス数よりわずか7つ少ないです。
