CT医学画像データは、がん画像アーカイブ庫のCT画像から取得されます。このデータセットは、コントラストの使用と患者の年齢に関連するCT画像データの傾向を調べるために、さまざまな方法をテストできるようにすることを目的としています。基本的な考え方は、これらの特徴と密接に関連する画像のテクスチャ、統計パターンおよび特徴を識別し、可能であれば簡単なツールを構築して、これらの画像の誤分類時に自動的に分類する（または、疑わしいケース、測定誤差または較正不良の機械の外れ値を探す）ことです。
データは、がん画像アーカイブの画像のごく一部にすぎません。これらは、撮影されたすべてのCT画像の中間部分で構成されており、患者の有効な年齢、モダリティおよびコントラストラベルを見つけることができます。これにより、69人の異なる患者から475シリーズが得られました。
